MVE (Multivesicular Emulsion) Technology is a pharma-grade delivery system used in CeraVe formulations, designed to provide long-lasting hydration and restore the skin barrier. It utilizes a unique structure of multi-layered "spheres" (concentric oil-in-water droplets) that encapsulate key ingredients, specifically the three skin-identical ceramides: Ceramide NP, Ceramide AP, and Ceramide EOP. MVE works by releasing these active ingredients slowly over time, layer by layer, ensuring sustained skin barrier support and moisture retention for up to 24 hours. This controlled-release mechanism mimics the skin’s natural lipid structure, allowing for deeper penetration and continuous nourishment compared to traditional "burst-release" emulsions.
