Patients With Acne Present With Lower Levels of Ceramides1
In a study that compared intercellular lipid content and water barrier function (TEWL) in patients with acne vs. patients without acne, patients with acne exhibited lower ceramide amounts and diminished water barrier function (increased TEWL).1
Ceramide-containing moisturisers may enhance adherence and complement existing acne therapies.3

High Patient Satisfaction and Tolerance With a CeraVe Adjunctive Routine4
Protocol: A 4-week, single-centre study conducted on 52 women 13-35 years of age with normal-oily and oily skin, mild to moderate acne. 50% were new users of Adapalene (0.1%)/Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5%) and 50% had self-perceived sensitive skin. Blemish Control Cleanser was used twice daily in the morning and evening; Facial Moisturising Lotion was applied once daily in the morning before sunscreen and only applied in the evening after the Rx, if needed. Adapalene (0.1%)/Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5%) was applied daily in the evening.
