Atopic Dermatitis

Atopic dermatitis is characterized by reduced barrier function and skin hydration. Studies have shown atopic dermatitis is also associated with reduced ceramide levels, especially longer-chain ceramides like ceramide _¹, and decreased levels of long-chain free fatty acids. _^1-4

A CeraVe Routine Significantly Reduced AD Symptoms⁷

Protocol: In a randomised study, 151 subjects (118 subjects over 12) with mild to moderate atopic dermatitis (AD) used the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and Moisturising Cream regimen twice daily for 6 weeks. A dermatologist assessed treatment outcomes by comparing AD severity at baseline (day 0) versus the end of treatment (day 42).
