Seborrheic dermatitis (SD) is a common chronic inflammatory skin disorder that most commonly affects young adults. SD clinical presentation may range from a mild scalp scaling to diffuse white, yellowish patches in regions rich in sebaceous glands such as scalp, face, trunk and back. The pathophysiology of SD involves fungi Malassezia colonization and inflammation leading to an unbalanced skin microbiome. SD has an important negative impact on patients' Quality of Life causing social embarassment, depression, anxiety, and other emotional symptoms.
