Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with a multifactorial pathogenesis. It occurs most prominently on the face but also on the chest and back. The principal actors are the sebaceous gland, keratinocytes of the follicle and the skin microbiome/innate immunity. It is also one of the major reasons for dermatological consultation. However, few studies have investigated the profile of acne patients consulting in private practices and the factors associated with acne severity among patient characteristics, lifestyle factors, environmental factors and patients’ daily life behaviors.
