ABSTRACT: A growing body of evidence supports combining aesthetic procedures with targeted skincare to optimize treatment outcomes. This study evaluated the efficacy and tolerability of P-TIOX, a novel neuropeptide serum, when incorporated into a post-botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) skincare regimen to enhance wrinkle reduction and overall skin quality.

Background: While BTX-A injections effectively improve dynamic facial wrinkles, they do not directly address concerns such as skin texture, radiance, elasticity, firmness, and post-procedure recovery. Integrating evidence-based skincare may provide an opportunity to enhance patient outcomes beyond wrinkle correction alone.

Methods: In this randomized, double-blind, vehicle-controlled split-face study, 36 adults with mild-to-moderate facial wrinkles applied P-TIOX serum to one side of the face and a vehicle control to the other before and after BTX-A treatment. Investigator and subject assessments evaluated wrinkle appearance, skin quality attributes, and tolerability over an 8-week period.

ABSTRACT: Can post-procedure skincare enhance the benefits of neurotoxin treatments? This clinical study demonstrated that integrating P-TIOX into a BTX-A treatment regimen led to significant improvements in multiple wrinkle and skin quality measures while maintaining excellent tolerability, supporting a more comprehensive approach to facial rejuvenation.

Results: At 8 weeks post-BTX-A treatment, P-TIOX demonstrated statistically significant improvements across 18 investigator-assessed wrinkle and skin quality parameters compared with vehicle control. Improvements were observed in crow’s feet, glabellar lines, forehead wrinkles, under-eye wrinkles, smoothness, radiance, elasticity, firmness, and overall skin appearance. Benefits emerged as early as 2 weeks post-procedure, with reduced dryness and scaling compared with vehicle control.

Conclusions: P-TIOX may serve as an effective adjunctive skincare strategy following BTX-A procedures. By improving both wrinkle outcomes and overall skin quality while supporting post-procedure recovery, P-TIOX offers clinicians an evidence-based approach to optimizing aesthetic treatment results and patient satisfaction.
