La Roche-Posay partners with dermatologists worldwide in the prevention of skin cancer. Various initiatives emerged from this partnership, including free mole screening days organized in over thirty countries alongside dermatological societies.
It all began with the Euromelanoma Group in 2001, when La Roche-Posay joined the free mole screening days across Europe, bringing early diagnosis to thousands of people. Dermatologists volunteer their time to examine moles, raise participants’ awareness on the risks of overexposure to UVA and UVB rays, and explain how to stay safe in the sun. To reach as many people as possible, the initiatives are publicized in pharmacies. Free mole screening days are also held in North America and Latin America.
