INTRODUCTION

Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory disease, associated with a disrupted skin barrier and reduced ceramide levels. Gel cleansers often contain harsh surfactants to remove sebum, disrupting the barrier and consequently, impact skin moisturization. This investigator-blinded, split-face, single-center study evaluated the efficacy of a cleansing gel containing Salicylic Acid 2%, hectorite clay, niacinamide and ceramides 1, 3 and 6-II to remove surface oil without impact skin’s hydration.
