Before After

Description of the disease

Following histological diagnosis, the surgical management of primary melanoma requires surgical extension with the aim of preventing the risk of persistence or local recurrence of the disease. The extent of re-excision is commensurate with the histological characteristics of the melanoma and, in particular, with the Breslow thickness.

Adjuvant treatment

  • CICAPLAST Baume B5+, a repairing and soothing balm that rebalances the skin’s microbiome, once or twice a day to promote repair

  • ANTHELIOS UVMUNE 400, SPF 50+ broad-spectrum protection, expertly designed for sensitive or reactive skin, offering protection against UVA, ultra-long UVA, and UVB radiation

Adjuvant treatment follow-up

The scar resulting from surgical expansion can cause significant aesthetic and functional impairment: additional treatment aims to protect the scar tissue, and the use of camouflage makes the main signs of the condition less noticeable.

Camouflage

Material

  • Base cream

  • Green concealer

  • Powder

  • Foundation

  • Thermal spring water

  • Sponge

  • Powder puff

Technique

  • Apply the base cream and wait for it to absorb.

  • Use a sponge to apply a green concealer to neutralise the redness of the scar (the concealer should be dabbed on so that it penetrates well and should not be “dragged”).

  • Dab on a thin layer of powder to set the concealer.

  • Apply foundation to the scar by dabbing with a sponge; the foundation will then be blended over the entire affected area.

  • Set everything with a powder puff and spray with a little thermal spring water to increase the hold and make the effect more natural and even.

Adjuvant treatment outcomes

The effect of the treatment is to divert the patient's gaze, as well as that of others, from the mark left by the surgical procedure, which is related to the diagnosis of melanoma.
