Three ceramides

Ceramides 1, 3, & 6-II

Three of the most important ceramides for skin barrier function are ceramides 1, 3, & 6-II. CeraVe is carefully formulated with ceramides identical to these found in the skin, plus cholesterol and fatty acids, to help restore and maintain proper skin barrier function.

Multivesicular Emulsion (MVE) Technology

Multivesicular Emulsion (MVE) Technology is a multi-phase, oil-in-water emulsion system consisting of a series of concentric spheres of oil and water.

Entrapped within the MVE spheres are ingredients including skin-identical ceramides 1, 3, & 6-II, fatty acids, and phytosphingosine. It is this structure that gives MVE Technology an advantage over traditional topical formulations. Instead of delivering all of the ingredients in the traditional “quick burst release,” MVE Technology utilises its unique structure to immediately moisturise and continuously hydrate skin.

MVE Technology’s multi-phase moisturisation system helps ensure CeraVe’s formulations last long on the skin, helping to increase moisture content, replenish skin’s ceramide levels, and restore barrier function.
